Two More People in Tri-County Area Test Positive with COVID-19

Another 249 people in the state have tested positive with COVID-19, including one person in Marshall County and one person in Starke County, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.  There were no new cases reported in Pulaski County. 

An additional five people in the state have died of COVID-19 which raises the total number of deaths to 13,431 since March 2020.

There are just over 400 COVID-19 patients in hospitals around the state.

The number of COVID-19 variant cases keeps increasing with 5,003 total cases in Thursday’s report.  The Alpha variant is the variant most commonly found in Indiana with 3,846 cases. 

The COVID-19 vaccine is available to residents ages 12 and older.  The closest vaccination site can be found at www.ourshot.in.gov.

Over 5.6 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in Indiana.  Over 2.8 million Hoosiers are fully vaccinated including 40 percent of the population in Marshall County and Pulaski County and over 32 percent of the population in Starke County.
