The number of COVID-19 cases continues to increase in Indiana.
There were 1,284 newly reported cases statewide in Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health with six new cases in Marshall County and one new case in Starke County.
The Delta variant is the most common variant found in COVID-19 tests, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
Another six Hoosiers have died of COVID-19.
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms continues to increase with 795 patients in hospitals around the state.

The overall number of breakthrough cases is 3,710 with 161 breakthrough hospitalizations and 56 deaths. A breakthrough refers to any individual testing positive for COVID-19 at least 14 days after their final dose or single-dose vaccination.
