Saint Joseph Health System to Require Employees to Get COVID-19 Vaccine

Saint Joseph Health System employees will be required to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The requirement applies to “all colleagues, clinical staff, contractors and those conducting business” in health care facilities that are part of Trinity Health, including St. Joseph Health System. A hospital system press release says most employees will have to provide proof of vaccination by September 21, but exemptions are available for religious or health reasons. Trinity Health believes that almost 75 percent of its 117,000 employees nationwide have already gotten at least one dose of the vaccine.

Saint Joseph Health System President and CEO Chad Towner says the requirement is a way to create “a safe and compassionate healing environment” for patients and colleagues.
