Matthew Sarber was officially sworn in as judge of Marshall County Superior Court III in a ceremony in the courtroom in the Marshall County Courthouse Wednesday afternoon.
Marshall County Circuit Court Judge Curtis Palmer read aloud from a greeting submitted by Governor Eric Holcomb that acknowledged Sarber’s judicial appointment, followed by the oath administered by Marshall County Superior Court I Judge Robert O. Bowen. Marshall County Superior Court II Judge Dean Colvin officially then robed Sarber with the judge’s robe.
Marshall County Bar Association President Sean Surrisi read a resolution that recognized Sarber’s judicial appointment and congratulated him on his efforts.
Sarber thanked the judges, his former colleagues, friends and family members for attending the ceremony. He reminisced about the interview process and a response to a final question asked that pointed to what the interviewers should know about Sarber that was not evident provided on paperwork submitted for the appointment. Sarber replied that family is very important to him and that he has been blessed with a great family.
Marshall County Superior Court No. III officially opens July 1.
