Local Counties Still in Blue on COVID-19 Map but Spread Still Increasing throughout State

Community spread of COVID-19 is ticking back up across the state but remains low in the local area. Marshall, Starke, and Pulaski counties are still in the blue category on this week’s county metrics map.

But 22 counties are now in the yellow. That includes Fulton County, where six residents and two staff members of the Life Care Center of Rochester tested positive earlier this month. Newton, Warren, and Gibson counties are now in the orange.

Wednesday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health showed four new cases in Marshall County. No new resident cases or deaths were reported in Marshall, Starke, or Pulaski County’s long-term care facilities.

The Indiana Department of Health continues to offer COVID-19 vaccines at fairs and festivals. That includes the Northern Indiana Power from the Past this Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EDT at the Winamac Town Park. A mobile vaccination clinic is also in Warsaw for the Kosciusko County Fair, today through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
