John Glenn Schools Moving Forward with Fuel Project

Discussions continue involving the installation of gasoline and diesel fuel tanks for use by the John Glenn School Corporation and the Town of Walkerton.

The school board agreed to move forward with the project with the town and the Good Oil Company at a prior meeting which could save the school corporation in fuel costs in the long run.

School buses could fill up with gasoline or diesel at the fueling station and vehicles used by employees of the Town of Walkerton.

John Glenn School Superintendent Christopher Winchell said that they are waiting on estimates for concrete for the footers for the tanks.  They are also waiting on the tanks as they are on back order.  He feels confident that the project could still be done in the fall.

In the meantime, the school’s legal counsel is working on a Memorandum of Understanding between the school corporation and the Town of Walkerton concerning use and other provisions.
