Seven more people in Marshall County and one more person in Starke County have been diagnosed with COVID-19, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. They are among 302 people in the state who were recently diagnosed with COVID-19. That brings the overall total number of cases to 754,724 since March 2020.
Currently, 4,034 Hoosiers are actively fighting the virus, according to the Regenstrief Institute.
The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients is increasing. There were 417 people in hospitals around the state on Thursday which is an increase of 48 from just a week ago.
There are 5,004 COVID-19 variant cases that have been reported in Indiana.

In observance of the Fourth of July, the Indiana Department of Health’s dashboard will not update and an advisory will not be issued on Monday, July 5. Normal updates will resume on Tuesday, July 6.
