Lane closures will be in effect on or after Friday, July 30 through mid-October for work on the U.S. 31 bridge over U.S. 30 in Marshall County.
Work includes an approach slab replacement and bridge deck overlay project. A bridge deck overlay is a protective treatment done to extend the life of a bridge deck.
Indiana Department of Transportation officials say the first phase of the project will close the northbound and southbound right driving lanes, but drivers will be able to access all ramps and passing lanes. The second phase will close the northbound and southbound left passing lanes.
INDOT officials urge drivers to be prepared for changing traffic patterns in the area, and to stay alert near crews and follow traffic directions carefully.
