The Bremen Town Council members formally took action Monday afternoon on a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bremen Park Board.
The MOU was recently approved and signed by the Park Board members and approved by the town council members Monday.
The MOU outlines day-to-day management and a chain of command when it comes to issues at the town’s parks. Town Attorney Anthony Wagner previously stated that there will be an agreement that the park board members adopt the town handbook as their employee handbook so Park Superintendent Brian Main has the same set of standards.
A paragraph was added to the most recent revision of the document that states the Bremen Police Department will be made available to the park system. The Bremen Park Board would adopt the Police Department as its police service or public safety service at the park. This would clarify the enforcement abilities of the Police Department at the park systems in Bremen.
In other news, Park Superintendent Brian Main said the pool will be open for another couple of weeks and then fall sports begin.
