There were 10 new COVID-19 cases reported in the tri-county area in the Indiana Department of Health’s daily update Thursday. Five of those cases were in Marshall County, two in Starke County and three in Pulaski County. Overall, there were 418 new cases in the state.
Another 20 people in the state have died from COVID-19 which raises the overall number of deaths to 13,239.
There are 666 COVID-19 patients in hospitals around the state with 16 admissions Wednesday. The trend continues downward as there were over 100 more patients a week ago.
The number of people testing positive with COVID-19 variants is trending upward with 3,461 people testing positive with the four different variants identified in Indiana. The most common variant seen in Indiana is the B.1.1.7 variant originally identified in the U.K.

Over 5.2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Indiana and over 2.5 million people in the state are fully vaccinated.
