The search is on for a new superintendent at the Plymouth Community School Corporation.
Superintendent Andy Hartley announced his resignation in April.
Plymouth Community School Board President Melissa Christiansen said Tuesday night that the position is posted and applications will be accepted until July 7. The board recently asked for input for qualities to look for in a superintendent and she said the responses were identical to what the board members are looking for in the next candidate. The process is quite involved, but Christiansen said the board members will do their due diligence in finding the best candidate to lead the school corporation.
Christiansen thanked Hartley for his years of service after he provided comments to the board during their meeting.
“This is my last, regular meeting with the school board and my gratitude is immense toward you, toward our employees, and toward the team in this office,” stated Hartley. “I appreciate all of the work that’s gone into running a school system and the personal support that’s been provided to me. Really, this is a terrific board. It’s focused on supporting the great people working hard for our students every day. I wish you all the best in your search for the next superintendent. I’m confident that they will be great and help lead this district to new heights.”
The other board members also thanked Hartley for his many years of service to the school corporation.
