Plymouth Man Arrested on Several Charges Following Call to Police

A Plymouth man was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. ET Wednesday after Plymouth Police Department officers received a call about a man reportedly opening car doors.

Officers arrived at the scene in the Berkley Square Trailer Court and talked with a witness who reportedly said the suspect was an African American man with a gray hoodie and a larger build.  At the time, he was last seen running east through the park.

Officers were able to find a man fitting that description on East Jefferson Street, according to the report.  After an investigation, police say a stolen handgun and other items were in his possession.

Kentavis Sommers, 21, was taken to the Marshall County jail.  He was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of stolen property, theft, and possession of a handgun without a permit.

The Plymouth Police Department was assisted in this case by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
