Nine New COVID-19 Cases Reported Locally

There were three new cases of COVID-19 reported in Marshall County, four new cases in Starke County and two new cases in Pulaski County, according to Saturday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.

Another 23 confirmed deaths of COVID-19 were reported in the state in Saturday’s update ranging from May 6 to June 4 of this year.   

The number of patients hospitalized due to COVID-19 continues to drop with 625 patients listed in Saturday’s report. 

There are 3,601 variant cases of COVID-19 in the state with 2,921 cases of the B.1.1.7 variant originally identified in the U.K., 373 cases of the P.1 variant originally identified in Brazil, 281 cases of the variant originally identified in California, and 26 cases of the variant originally identified in South Africa.

Over 5.2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to eligible residents in Indiana, while 2.5 million people in the state are fully vaccinated.  Over 38 percent of Pulaski County residents are fully vaccinated, over 37 percent of Marshall County residents are fully vaccinated and 30 percent of Starke County residents are fully vaccinated.
