Residents are asked to be weather aware Sunday as damaging winds, large hail, isolated tornadoes and heavy rain could arrive this afternoon and in the overnight hours.
Strong winds could bring down power lines and cause power outages, while large hail could damage roofs and vehicles. Heavy rain could cause localized flooding in low lying areas or areas that are prone to flooding during heavy rainfall. Ponding on road surfaces could make driving at night more dangerous.
If there are high water signs, road closed signs, or barricades on roads, do not ignore the signs. Turn around and seek a different route.
Make sure phones are charged, flashlights have fresh batteries and emergency kits are ready.
