Officials with the Marshall County Habitat for Humanity recently received notice that the organization was awarded a $20,000 grant from PNC Bank as part of a home building project in Marshall County.
Marshall County Habitat for Humanity Director Dean Byers explained in a previous meeting of the Plymouth City Council that the project will involve the construction of two homes in Bourbon, two homes in Argos, and three homes in Plymouth. The third home will be built in Plymouth thanks to the grant from PNC Bank.
The Plymouth City Council previously agreed by a majority vote to provide the $20,000 in extra funding if the grant application was not successful.
Brent Martin told the council members last week that the timeline will move fairly quickly now.
“The project will be out for bid about the third week of June with bids due about a month later,” commented Martin. “Construction contracts should be signed a month after that, so hopefully around Labor Day we should be underway.”
The Plymouth City Council members congratulated members of the Marshall County Habitat for Humanity organization for its great news.
