The Town of Bourbon will join the Indiana Lincoln Highway Association in placing two history panels at the corner of Main and Center Streets to celebrate and honor the Lincoln Highway through Bourbon.
The panels tell a story of the highway as it made its way through America, paving its way for the development of travel, automotive industry and community growth. It also had a positive impact on the Town of Bourbon in the 1920s.
The Lincoln Highway is the first and longest memorial to America’s 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln Highway gave birth to thousands of small businesses, hotels, restaurants and an economic boom not seen by small towns throughout country.
The panels will be officially placed and revealed during a special ceremony Tuesday, June 15 at 6 p.m. ET at Main and Center Streets.
