The flood warning for the Yellow River at Plymouth has been extended to July 1.
The National Weather Service says the Yellow River is at 13.75 feet which is over the flood stage of 13.0 feet.
Marshall County EMA Director Clyde Avery says officials will watch flooding of low lying county roads and low lying agricultural areas.
Avery warns that additional rain in the next couple of days could result in additional impassable roads due to ponding or washouts. Excessive run-off in ditches and creeks can cause damage to culverts, drainage tiles and bridges. The ground is saturated and strong winds can uproot trees more easily which can create damage, downed power lines and road blocks.
Residents living in flood-prone locations should be prepared to take immediate action to protect themselves, loved ones and property. Sand and sand bags are available at the old EMA Office just north of the Marshall County Highway Garage on King Road, however shovels are not provided.
