The National Weather Service has extended the flood warning for the Yellow River at Plymouth until Tuesday afternoon (June 29).
Flood stage is at 13.0 feet and the Yellow River at Plymouth was measured at 13.4 feet Monday morning. There was some minor flooding near the Plymouth Boys and Girls Club on Monday.
The river is expected to fall below flood stage Monday afternoon. It is expected to continue to fall to 6.2 feet by Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, Marshall County Highway Department crews have been checking high water areas and posting signs to warn drivers of high water or if a road is closed. They have also been clearing roads of debris and working on washouts and gravel roads. Culverts, tiles, catch basins and ditches are being assessed for any flood damage.
Roads are closed in Marshall County on Filbert from 7B to 8th, Gumwood from 7B to 8th, 8th from Fir to Gumwood, Gumwood from 6th to 5th, 7th from Jarrah to King, 8A and 9th from Iris to Hawthorn, and Gumwood from 5B to 6th.
There is a high water sign posted on Fir Road and 8th.
Highway Superintendent Jason Peters urges drivers to seek an alternate route if there is high water on roads. Do not drive around barricades where roads are closed for safety reasons.
