A murder suspect will go to trial in Marshall County beginning Monday, June 21.
Duane Longacre faces charges of murder, a Level 4 Felony count of arson, and a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement in the death of Jill McCarty at a Plymouth home in late June 2020. He allegedly killed McCarty at her Plum Street home by using a machete to her head, neck and face, set fire to the residence, and would not cooperate with commands by police officers to surrender, according to court documents.
The trial will be held in Marshall County Superior Court No. 1 with Judge Robert O. Bowen presiding. Jury selection is scheduled for Monday, June 21 with the trial commencing June 22 at 9 a.m. ET.
