The Bremen Town Council members were presented with a policy Monday afternoon for what can be displayed on the new LED electronic sign at the corner of Plymouth Street and Bowen Avenue.
Town Attorney Anthony Wagner explained that all of the information proposed to be displayed on the sign would go through Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy and his office. The town and all of its units, including the Park Department, would be able to display town information, along with Bremen Public Schools, Bremen Public Library, German Township, and Emergency Management.
Wagner said he would like to see something of what information other communities would be submitting to be displayed and that will be something to look into before the council adopts the policy.
Every community in Marshall County received an LED message board, purchased with COVID-19 funds received by the Marshall County Crossroads Regional Stellar Initiative to improve communications with local residents and visitors to Marshall County. All signs will display emergency and community information from all towns on each of the signs in the county.
Other municipal government leaders may choose to adopt a similar policy.
