The Bourbon Town Council members opened bids Tuesday night for the second phase of the sewer project that involves slip lining sewer pipes to extend the life of the infrastructure.
Four companies submitted a base bid and four alternate bids. The alternate bids may be considered in case a review of the bids by engineers may determine a better plan.
Miller Pipeline submitted a base bid of about $95,000, Insituform Technologies, USA had a base bid of $100,659, Inland Water Pollution Control had a base bid of $169,562, and Granite Inliner submitted a base bid of $153,424. The first alternate bid ranged from about $35,000 to $135,000; the second alternate ranged from about $17,000 to $109,000; and the third alternate ranged from $44,000 to $126,000.
All bids submitted were under the engineer’s estimate.
The town council members voted to take the bids under advisement. The bids will be reviewed by project engineers from Wessler Engineering. A bid will be awarded at the council’s July meeting.
