The Bourbon Town Council members considered a contribution to the Marshall County Council on Aging organization when they met Tuesday night.
Mark Cottrill from the Marshall County Council on Aging was before the town council in May to ask for a contribution similar to what the town has given in the past. He formally asked for $2,500 to aid the organization with assisting the residents of Bourbon.
He previously stated that 700 trips were made to Bourbon in 2019. The number of trips to Bourbon in 2020 dropped due to the pandemic. The organization recorded 400 trips to Bourbon in 2020. In 2021, 300 trips have been made to Bourbon where residents have taken advantage of free transportation to get a COVID-19 vaccine and many other offers through the Marshall County Council on Aging.
The council members ultimately decided to approve a $2,500 contribution toward the Marshall County Council on Aging once American Rescue Plan Act funds are delivered to the Town of Bourbon.
