The Argos Community School Board members received an update last week on projects going on this summer.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said rooms have been rearranged to make way for new recovery learning teachers coming to the corporation. New furniture was purchased to accommodate the addition of the staff.
Carpeting work is ongoing at the schools with the help of carpet cleaning richmond va and also the sanitizing and other summer maintenance of the buildings is also happening. Speicher stressed that the air handlers are getting extra attention this year to ensure that they are sanitized and equipped with high efficiency air filters.
Speicher said plans are coming together for projects to be paid for with Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds (ESSER).
“We’re looking at a playground and an outdoor learning lab and we’re looking at putting emotional and social training courses in,” stated Speicher.
He said the playgrounds need to be updated and students need to “get back to being children” after the pandemic.
More information on those projects will be given as the summer continues.
