Two More COVID-19 Cases Reported in Marshall County

A few more COVID-19 cases were reported in Starke and Marshall counties Sunday. The Indiana Department of Health says Starke County had one more case, bringing the total to 2,251 since the pandemic began. Marshall County had two more cases, for a new total of 6,185. Pulaski County’s total remains at 1,187.

The state as a whole has had almost 744,000 positive cases and more than 13,200 deaths since March of 2020. Almost 3,400 of the state’s cases have been traced back to COVID-19 variants.

The rate of Pulaski County residents age 12 and older who are fully vaccinated is approaching 38 percent, while Marshall County’s rate is over 36 percent. Starke County’s rate still hasn’t cracked 30 percent. All three counties lag behind the state as a whole. More than 43 percent of Hoosiers are now fully vaccinated.

The Indiana Department of Health says it won’t be issuing updated COVID-19 numbers on Memorial Day.
