Plymouth Community School Superintendent Andy Hartley submitted his resignation to the Plymouth School Board members Tuesday night.
Hartley told MAX 98.3 FM News that he recently accepted a new job offer with the Four County Community Mental Health Center as the chief operations officer. He said he was not particularly looking for the job, but believes the opportunity will be a good fit for him and for his family.
Hartley began at the Plymouth Community School Corporation 13 years ago as the assistant high school principal and then he went to Washington Discovery Academy where he served as principal. From there, he was moved to the assistant superintendent spot where he served two years before he moved to the superintendent’s position four years ago.
Hartley said the school board will begin the new search immediately. He will serve as superintendent through the end of June.
