More COVID-19 Cases Reported in Marshall, Starke, Pulaski Counties

Another five COVID-19 cases have been reported in Starke County, according to Friday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. Marshall and Pulaski counties each had four new cases. The state as a whole reported 571 new cases and 13 more deaths.

Starke County continues to lag behind its neighbors, when it comes to the vaccination rate, with less than 30 percent of residents 12 and older fully vaccinated. The number of Pulaski County residents fully vaccinated has now surpassed 4,000, almost 38 percent of the eligible population. In Marshall County, that rate is just over 36 percent.

The mass vaccination clinic at the former Gary Roosevelt High School wraps up Saturday, according to the Indiana Department of Health. A mobile clinic is also taking place today and Saturday at the Civil Rights Heritage Center in South Bend.
