Marshall County Clerk Deb VanDeMark was recently elected as the president of the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) Northwest District. She serves on the AIC’s board of directors which determines policies and legislative goals for the AIC.
She will represent the elected county officials in Carroll, Cass, Fulton, Jasper, Lake, La Porte, Marshall, Newton, Porter, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke and White Counties.
The district vice president was also elected. Jasper County Recorder Kim Grow will fill that seat.
The elections were held during the district meeting earlier this month where a synopsis of the 2021 Indiana Legislative Session was given by AIC legislative staff.
The AIC lobbies the Indiana General Assembly on behalf of counties, serves as liaison among county, state and federal agencies, as well as providing technical assistance and training to county officials and employees.
