John Glenn School Board to Look into Hiring Staff into New Positions

The John Glenn School Corporation will soon be looking to hire staff for a couple of new positions, and for a new person to take over as technology director.

Superintendent Christopher Winchell said long-time Technology Director Andrew Stegemiller will head into retirement.

Winchell commented, “We recognized his thirty-six years of service.  He has been a true teammate and a true lifetime educator and we’re just sad to see him leave our team, but we’re very excited for him to be able to now enjoy the fruits of his labor in retirement.”

Additionally, Winchell asked the school board members to hire personnel in other positions at the corporation.

Winchell continued, “I wanted their support in bringing back our old elementary assistant principal position, but bringing it back in a re-engineered way under the title of director of learning and student services.  They’ll help service kids, teachers and staff in all four buildings.  The other couple of positions that I recommended that we bring to fruition was an assistant to the transportation director and an assistant to the food service director.”

Winchell noted that John Glenn’s enrollment has increased to the point to where these positions are needed to assist in the everyday operations in the transportation and food services departments.

The technology director position is posted and the other opportunities should be posted soon.
