Indiana Department of Health Updates County Metrics Map

Marshall County and Starke County remain in the yellow status and Pulaski County remains in the blue status on the state’s County Metrics Map which measures community spread of COVID-19.  The yellow status indicates a moderate spread of COVID-19 while the blue status measures a low spread of COVID-19.

There were 655 additional Hoosiers diagnosed with COVID-19 in Wednesday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health, including seven people from Marshall County, three people from Starke County and one person from Pulaski County.

Another six people in the state have died of COVID-19 which raises the overall number of deaths to 13,155.

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 is trending upward this week.  There were 810 patients listed in Wednesday’s report which is an increase of 59 since Sunday.

The COVID-19 vaccine is available to residents aged 12 and older.  To make an appointment, visit www.ourshot.in.gov or call 211.  Many sites do not require an appointment. That information is available on that website.

In the state’s long-term care facility weekly update, the report showed 28 new confirmed resident cases in the state in the last few months and three deaths, none of which occurred locally.
