Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health showed 801 additional people in the state who have tested positive with COVID-19, which includes 11 people in Marshall County and four people in Starke County. There were no new cases of COVID-19 in Pulaski County.
Another 22 people in the state have died of COVID-19 pushing the total number of deaths to 13,130.
The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients dipped below 800 for the first time since April 9.
There are 2,669 cases of COVID-19 variants in the state. The B.1.1.7 variant originally identified in the U.K. is the variant found in most testing.
Residents aged 12 and older are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Individuals under the age of 18 are only able to get the Pfizer vaccine. To schedule an appointment, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211. A list of walk-in sites is included on the website.
Nearly five million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Indiana. Almost 2.4 million people in the state are fully vaccinated.
