Eighteen new COVID-19 cases were reported locally in Saturday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.
There were 11 new cases in Marshall County, five new cases in Starke County and two cases in Pulaski County. They were among 1,056 additional people in the state who were diagnosed with COVID-19 in the state.
Eight more people in the state have died of COVID-19 to push the total number of deaths to 12,991.
There has been a decline in hospitalized COVID-19 patients this week. The state’s report Saturday showed 917 people in hospitals which is 102 less than Tuesday of this week.
The COVID-19 vaccine is available to residents age 16 and older. An appointment can be made by visiting https://ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211. A list of clinics is available on the website to show where appointments are not necessary.
Over 4.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Indiana. About 2.1 million people are fully vaccinated in the state including 12,179 people in Marshall County, 4,979 people in Starke County and 3,678 people in Pulaski County.
