The Bremen Public School Board members reviewed information Wednesday night that would include a wage increase for custodians.
Superintendent Dr. Jim White said it has been difficult to keep people employed with the current wage in the current environment. The proposal increases wages from $12.00 an hour to $15.00 an hour.
“That will keep us competitive with other industries,” stated Dr. White. “I’m kind of excited about that and hopefully over time we will be able to do the same thing for other groups of employees that work for us. I strongly feel that everyone that is helping to take care of our students really deserve a living wage.”
The school board members unanimously approved the wage increase.
