Argos School Board Approves Hire of New Teachers

The Argos Community School Board members approved the hire of several new teachers during their meeting last week.

Superintendent Ned Speicher said the new hires were approved with the use of federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief, or ESSER, grant money.

“Seven new teachers were hired to help in the Elementary School and Middle School with recovery learning of students that missed out over the year of COVID,” stated Speicher. “It’s the plan for next year to address their needs.”

Speicher also noted several teachers were hired for summer school for the month of June to also help students catch up with learning gaps.
