One more person in Marshall County has died of COVID-19, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. The total number of deaths in Marshall County is now up to 114. The report also shows 18 additional COVID-19 deaths in the state.
Starke County had 34 new cases of COVID-19, some of which were a result of testing at the Starke County Justice Center. Starke County Sheriff Bill Dulin addressed the issue last week where he stated that 23 percent of the jail population tested positive with COVID-19. Efforts were made to quarantine those who have COVID-19 and to disinfect all areas of the jail. Sheriff Dulin told WKVI News Thursday that there have been no other positive cases at the jail since last week.
Marshall County had eight additional people test positive with COVID-19 while there were no new cases in Pulaski County.

A total of 5.1 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in Indiana and 2.4 million people in the state are fully vaccinated. Thirty-five percent of people in Marshall County are fully vaccinated, along with 37 percent of Pulaski County residents and 29 percent of Starke County residents.
