Another Marshall County resident has died while positive for COVID-19. The death occurred on May 6, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Marshall County up to 112.
Friday’s update showed another 10 positive cases in Marshall County, seven in Starke County, and two in Pulaski County. The state as a whole reported 925 new cases and 16 additional deaths.
Starke County continues to lag behind all of its neighbors, when it comes to vaccination rates. Just over 26 percent of Starke County residents are now fully vaccinated, compared to almost 33 percent in Marshall County and more than 35 percent in Pulaski County. In Warsaw, a mobile vaccination clinic is taking place today and tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Center Lake Pavilion. Meanwhile, the Bowen Center says its free COVID-19 testing site at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds will be cutting back its hours to Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., starting next week.
