Two Arrested after Driver Allegedly Tries to Flee Plymouth Traffic Stop

A wanted Plymouth man was reportedly tasered and taken into custody after trying to run away from a traffic stop Wednesday night. Plymouth Police say they tried to pull over a Cadillac for multiple traffic violations on U.S. 30 and Oak Drive at around 9:45 p.m.

It allegedly fled for a short time before eventually stopping on U.S. 30. At that point, police say the driver, identified as Jason McFarland, 37, led police on a foot pursuit, before he was eventually tasered and taken into custody. Meanwhile, officers say they found narcotics, paraphernalia, and syringes inside the vehicle.

McFarland was reportedly treated at the emergency room before being taken to the Marshall County Jail. He’s accused of resisting and possession of marijuana, while also having an active arrest warrant. Jordan P. Mallory, 29, of Thomasville, North Carolina, is accused of possession of the paraphernalia and syringes.
