A Rochester man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of theft.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a vehicle on the side of the roadway on Lincoln Highway near U.S. 31 just after noon ET. Police say the caller said a male subject was with the vehicle and acting “very nervous”.
Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies responded and an investigation reportedly determined that the vehicle was stolen. The driver had left prior to officers’ arrival, but he was later located, according to the report.
Police say Gavin Jenkins, 21, was arrested on preliminary charge of theft of a vehicle.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
