A policy that would allow the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members to continue to meet in virtual meetings outside of a state emergency declaration was considered by those members last week.
Governor Eric Holcomb signed a bill last week that would allow meetings to be held virtually after the emergency declaration expires, which could happen at the end of this month. Government meetings are allowed under the declaration, but more strict provisions are in place when the declaration is lifted.
The policy would require a majority of the members to be present at the regular meeting location where others could attend virtually, if needed. Communication with officials to enable the virtual option would need to take place in advance of the meeting.
Members cannot attend more than two meetings in a row in a virtual manner. Members must also attend more than half of the meetings in the year in person.
To be eligible to vote, a Plymouth Redevelopment Commission member attending virtually must be able to be seen by video and heard by audio to cast a vote on an action item.
With some minor changes, the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members approved the amended policy with a unanimous vote.
