Plymouth Community School Superintendent Andy Hartley updated the school board Tuesday night on the Lincoln Education Center project.
“We are going through a punchlist now with contractors on that,” stated Hartley. “The most notable thing that needs to be finished is the parking lot. That should begin in the next two weeks and completed in the next three to four weeks depending on weather. There are a few other things that we’re going to take care of on our own. On the inside we noticed after completion we need to paint those yellow lockers because they just don’t match.”
Hartley noted that some organizations have successfully moved operations into the new building.
Hartley continued, “J.E.S.S.E. has moved in, the vocational cooperative office are in, and adult education has moved over as well. It’s really been a team effort to get to that point. Our maintenance and technology staff has been great in getting the final days of bringing that all together just like the experts from J.O.N. Construction, Inc. It’s exciting to see everyone in there in their own space.”
The next big project Hartley discussed dealt with a new roof repair or coatings with updated warranties for Washington Discovery Academy, Menominee Elementary School, and several roofs at Plymouth High School. Roofer Charlotte NC offers the perfect roofing design which will be so appealing to everyone. Hartley added that work will begin on the high school auditorium this summer. If people need roofing services, they can check out EAS Roofing and get it from here!
“It’s going to be drawn out a little bit, but we’re working to secure the structural contractor and we’ve been talking with lighting folks and sound folks to get kind of those three big areas done this summer. The next summer will be seating, flooring, walls, and things like that. So, over the course of two summers we’ll be able to tackle our auditorium at the high school to bring that up to current times and allow it to keep doing what it’s been doing so well which is creating some great performances for our community by our kids,” said Hartley.
The school board members hope that there will be an open house for the newly completed Lincoln Junior High School scheduled soon.
