Area residents will soon get to enjoy some activities in downtown Plymouth after the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members approved street closure requests in order to host a few events.
The Wild Rose Moon was granted permission to host an outdoor concert on the sidewalk in front of the business on Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET. There will be a roped off area between musicians and audience members and chairs will be placed six feet apart. Those in wheelchairs or other means of immobility will still have plenty of room to maneuver in the space.
The board members also approved the closure of a portion of Beerenbrook, one block north and south of Jefferson Street for the annual Cars and Coffee event at the old gas station located in the area. The event is set for the first Saturday of every month from May to September from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET on those days.
Lastly, the board members approved the closure of Michigan Street from Laporte to Washington Streets on July 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET for the 7th Annual Arts in the Street Festival. Members of Heartland Artists will also ask INDOT to approve the closure as it will be on a state road. There will be art on display, plus many more things to offer. They noted there will be port-a-pottys stationed downtown.
