Over 1,400 New Cases of COVID-19 in Indiana

Another 1,406 people in the state have tested positive with COVID-19, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. 

The COVID-19 case count in Marshall County increased by 18 in Thursday’s report to push the overall total to 5,903.  Starke County’s additional seven cases raised the overall total there to 2,105.  One more person in Pulaski County tested positive to lift the county’s overall total to 1,152.    

A total of 12,913 people in the state have died of COVID-19, which is an increase of 11 from Wednesday’s report. 

Residents age 16 and older are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. In the state’s long-term care facility weekly update, there were 29 new resident cases confirmed from November 18 to April 25, and 14 new resident deaths from April 7 to April 26.  Parkview Haven in Francesville reported less than five new resident deaths, and Miller’s Merry Manor in Walkerton reported less than five new resident cases of COVID-19.
