Marion Woman Arrested Following Marshall County Traffic Stop

Lakisha Boyd

A driver from Marion, Indiana was arrested Friday, April 2 after a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 31 near 14th Road in Marshall County.

The driver, 35-year-old Lakisha Renee Boyd, pulled over for a Marshall County Sheriff’ s Department deputy after she reportedly did not move to the left lanes of traffic in order to yield for emergency vehicles.  Officers were out of their vehicles on a separate traffic stop when she drove by, according to the report.

Additionally, police say Boyd was found to be under the influence of alcohol as they investigated further during the traffic stop.

Boyd was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and taken to the Marshall County Jail.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
