John Glenn School Corporation Receives 2021 Partners for Clean Air Award

John Glenn School Corporation is one of four recipients in the state honored with the 2021 Partners for Clean Air Award.

Partners for Clean Air is a coalition of businesses, industries, local governments and community groups committed to improving overall air quality and public health through voluntary actions.

A solar field project was recently completed by the John Glenn School Corporation on the grounds of the North Liberty Elementary School.  The project was an overall energy savings project at the school which included the installation of 846 solar panels, LED lighting upgrades with updated controls, new windows, and a new HVAC system.  Students at the school corporation may also incorporate lessons and classes concerning the effects of solar energy.

Officials from the Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG) listed John Glenn as once of a growing list of public school corporations in the region to install large solar projects.  Argos Community Schools is included in that list.

Other recipients of the 2021 Partners for Clean Award are the City of Goshen, University of Notre Dame, and Recycling Works, Inc. of Waste-Away Group.
