Another 1,408 people in the state have tested positive with COVID-19, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. It is the highest daily count in about two months.
Eleven additional people in Marshall County havebeen diagnosed with COVID-19, along with nine more people in Starke County and two more people in Pulaski County.
Another seven people in the state have died of COVID-19 which increases the overall total number of deaths to 12,789.
The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations in the state has decreased somewhat. Thursday’s report showed 833 people in hospitals Wednesday compared to the week’s highest number of 909 Sunday.

Appointments are still available locally, in addition to the mass vaccinations site at the former Roosevelt High School in Gary. Local FEMA mobile units are stationed at the La Porte Rural King, East Chicago School Administration, and McMillen Park in Fort Wayne from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT today through Saturday.
Nearly 3.6 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Indiana.
