Indiana Department of Health Hosts Walk-in COVID-19 Vaccine Days

The former Roosevelt High School in Gary will be the site of the Indiana Department of Health’s walk-in days Sunday, April 11 and Monday, April 12. 

The clinic will open to residents 16 and older on Sunday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT at 730 W. 25th Ave. in Gary who walk-in to receive the vaccine.  The Pfizer vaccine will be offered which will require a second dose. The second appointment will scheduled after the first dose is administered.  The vaccine is free, but insurance information is requested as an administration fee may be charged. 

Walk-ins will be accepted at the site during its operation through June 2, but appointments are encouraged by visiting ourshot.in.gov or calling 211.

The Indiana Department of Health, Indiana National Guard and Department of Defense are managing the Gary vaccination site with support from FEMA, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, the City of Gary and the Lake County Emergency Management Agency.
