Governor Holcomb Extends Public Health Emergency Declaration, Other COVID-19 Measures

Governor Eric Holcomb extended the state’s Public Health Emergency Declaration for another month.

He signed the Executive Order Thursday, with the new expiration date of May 31, 2021.  He noted in the order that while improvements have occurred, there is a continued threat of COVID-19 to Indiana residents.

Additionally, effective May 1, 2021, counties will continue to follow guidance in the County Metrics Map that indicates the community spread of COVID-19.  Residents should also continue to maintain a six foot social distance, and be safe when conducting business in public spaces.

Face coverings will continue to be required inside all state government buildings, offices, and facilities, outside on state property where social distancing cannot be achieved, at a COVID-19 testing or vaccination site, and inside all school facilities.

Restaurants, bars, taverns, nightclubs and other establishments that offer in-person dining or service are encouraged to arrange tables at least six feet apart others outside of the household or party.

The order that continues modified county-based measures and restrictions based of the impact and spread of COVID-19 will expire May 31, 2021.
