Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested after Accident in Culver

Lyndsey Price

A Plymouth woman was arrested early Saturday morning after authorities pulled her vehicle from Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver.

Deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene in the area of East Shore Drive and 18B Road in Culver at about 5 a.m. ET.  They were soon joined by Culver-Union Township Firefighters, Culver-Union Township EMS, and the Culver Police Department.  It was previously reported that firefighters found that the car was submerged in six feet of water about 150 feet offshore.  Everyone had been able to get out of the vehicle.

The driver, 19-year-old Lyndsey Price, was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and she was taken to the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth for a certified chemical test, according to police.  The report indicated that Price was allegedly three times over the legal limit.

Price was taken to the Marshall County Jail and later posted bond.  At the time of her arrest, she faced preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated – endangering a person, operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more, and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
