State, Federal Income Tax Deadlines Pushed Back to May 17

The State of Indiana is following suit with the federal government and extending the income tax deadline to May 17. Governor Holcomb delayed the state individual income tax filing deadline in an executive order Monday, after the U.S. Treasury extended its deadline last week.

Meanwhile, a measure allowing retired and out-of-state health care workers, along with certain health care students, to get a temporary license has been extended by another 90 days. The governor’s order also extends the amount of time law enforcement officers have to complete their basic training, due to the closure of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy caused by COVID-19.
