Six more people in Marshall County and one more person in Starke County have tested positive with COVID-19, according to Thursday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. Pulaski County did not have any new cases for the second day in a row.
There were 977 new cases reported in the state Thursday ranging from December 12 to March 24. Eight more people in the state have died from COVID-19 pushing the total to 12,576.
There has been an increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations in the state by just over 40 from Wednesday’s numbers.
In the weekly COVID-19 update for long-term care facilities, there were 29 new resident cases confirmed from October 7 to March 17, and 35 deaths from November 25 to March 23. Parkview Haven in Francesville reported less than five new cases and less than five deaths.
More than one million people in the state are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with over 6,000 people in Marshall County, over 2,500 people in Starke County and over 2,000 people in Pulaski County.
