More people in the state are testing positive with COVID-19, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health.
That report found 1,136 additional cases of COVID-19 in the state which is the highest single-day increase in about two weeks. Those test results range from March 23 through March 25. Six more people in Marshall County and three more people in Starke County have tested positive with the novel coronavirus. Friday was the third day in a row where Pulaski County did not have any new cases to report.
Twenty more people in the state have died of COVID-19 which pushes the overall total number of COVID-19 deaths to 12,596.
Indiana residents age 40 and older, along with healthcare workers, long-term care residents, first responders, and educators and school support staff through grade 12 are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. To schedule an appointment, visit https://ourshot.in.gov or call 211.
Over 2.6 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Indiana. According to the state, 1,561,705 first doses have been given and 1,042,768 people are fully vaccinated. In Marshall County, 6,231 people are fully vaccinated. There are 2,616 people in Starke County who are fully vaccinated, as well as 2,109 people in Pulaski County.
